About The Program

Reading Ready uses an Orton-Gillingham based approach, implementing programming practices from a variety of successful methods.

Orton-Gillingham is a structured approach to teaching literacy. Orton-Gillingham teaches students to identify the connections between sounds and letters. Students will learn how to identify and understand patterns in words. They will be taught effective strategies and rules in reading and spelling in a multi-sensory fashion.

Instruction will be:

Multi-sensory

Visual (seeing), auditory (hearing) and kinesthetic (hands-on) learning

Sequential

Lessons are taught in a well-planned sequence

Incremental

Lessons will continually build on previous sessions

Cumulative

On-going and consistent reviews of previously taught skills and rules will be provided

One fun way to visualize Reading Ready’s results is to imagine the process as an apple tree, ready to grow and flourish!

With a variety of important foundational skills as the roots, and our effective methods of instruction that introduce them, together we can help your child harvest an improved sense of confidence and fluency that will last a lifetime.
